Targa High Country 2016 - Winners of the RDA Brakes GT4 competition

TARGA HIGH COUNTRY
In the RDA Brakes GT4 competition, Trevor Macleod had the highly experienced Steve Glenney calling the notes, and they proved a formidable combination in their 2010 Subaru WRX STI. Others around them faltered, with overnight second placed Barrie Smith and Anthony McLoughlin forced out on TS16 when their Audi TTRS had mechanical issues. Their bad luck left the door open to Tasmanian Crichton Lewis, who improved on his fifth here last year to take second place two minutes 07 seconds back, with yet another Subaru STI WRX combination, Nathan and Nicholas Stokes, in third, six minutes 01 seconds off the pace.
Triple podium for the team at Neil Buckby Motors - Congratulations!

Team RDA Brakes - James Duckworth maiden ARC crown

James Duckworth

James Duckworth secured a maiden Aussie Racing Cars title as Charlotte Poynting and Craig Woods shared the spoils in the final two races of the season at Hampton Downs.

Duckworth edged Woods to the championship after finishing ninth and eighth respectively in Sunday’s races.

Woods put up a strong fight for the title as he fought from the back of the grid to third in the reverse grid race, before finishing second in the final heat of the year.

The opening race of the day saw Poynting come through the pack to score her maiden victory and podium in the category.

Starting from ninth on the grid, Poynting managed to surge through to the lead by lap 3, where she stayed for the remainder of the 8 lap reverse grid race.

Glenn McNamara settled for second ahead of the charging Woods, while Kel Treseder finished fourth ahead of Brendon Tucker and Peter Carr.

The final championship race of the year provided a thrilling three-car battle between Treseder, Woods and Carr for the win.

Treseder quickly assumed the lead with Woods and Carr in hot pursuit.

The trio quickly broke away from the pack before they began to dice which saw the lead change hands on several occasions.

Despite coming under immense pressure, Treseder managed to hang on to take the win by 0.04s in a drag race to the flag from Woods, with Carr in third.

Aussie Racing Cars will return for a seven round series next year beginning at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide from March 2-5.

The RDA Brakes Team have now just got to finish with a decent result in New Zealand to win the 2016 Aussie Racing Car Championship.

Last weekend Aussie Racing Cars were in New South Wales competing at the fifth round of the Aussie Racing Car Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park

We entered the round knowing it was our home track but knew it was our main competitors home track also.
The RDA Brakes team started the weekend qualifying 4th out of 38 cars.

Entering the weekend i was hopeful on getting our first win for the season, The RDA Brakes Team pushed hard in Race 2 and managed to take the win but unfortunately the race was called a non event due to not enough laps being completed,The RDA Brakes Team were a little dejected but we knew we had to focus on the other two remaining races on Sunday.

Sunday was a day to remember, We walked away with two victories leading every lap.

I was able to win the round and extend the Championship by several points.

The RDA Brakes Team have now just got to finish with a decent result in New Zealand to win the 2016 Aussie Racing Car Championship.
